IT'S ALL ABOUT OTHERS
I grew up in Ontario, California, and graduated from Chaffey High School. From there, I studied at the University of Mexico, in Mexico City, and then on to San Diego State University. I graduated from San Diego State with Majors in Social Science and a History degree with honors. I also have a Minor in Spanish.
After graduating from San Diego State, I entered the United States Army, for three years. I attended Infantry Officer Candidate School. I graduated from OCS and was commissioned an officer in Military Intelligence, with a specialty in Aerial Surveillance. I was stationed in Vietnam for eighteen months and was awarded an Army Commendation Medal and two Bronze Stars for service. After leaving the Army, I returned to San Diego State to the School of Education and received my Secondary Teaching Credential. I came to Yakima and taught History and Spanish with the Yakima School District for 32 years. In 1993, I was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to study in Chile.
Prior to retiring from teaching, I obtained my Washington Real Estate Broker’s License. I have been a Realtor for 25 years, 6 years, part-time, and 19 years, full-time. I have been the top volume producer with Heritage, four times, and have received the Client Care Award, three times. Outside of taking care of my real estate clients, I sing in a choir, sit on the ESD 105 Board of Directors, spend quality time with my family, and travel domestically, and internationally. My parents taught me a valuable lesson. That being, when you make it all about others, others will help you. Hence, I live by the slogan, It’s All About Others.
